Honey Harvest: Guide to Beekeeping in Stardew Valley

This Stardew Valley guide delves into the often-overlooked profit potential of honey production. While farming and animal husbandry are central, crafting artisanal goods like honey offers a lucrative alternative. Bee House Construction

Honey production hinges on the Bee House, unlocked at Farming Level 3. Each Bee House requires:

• 40 Wood
• 8 Coal
• 1 Iron Bar
• 1 Maple Syrup

Bee Houses can also be obtained by completing the Fall Crops Bundle (Community Center) or as a Prize Counter reward. Place Bee Houses outdoors (not in the Greenhouse) for honey production every 3-4 days (except Winter; year-round on Ginger Island). Moving a Bee House with an axe or pickaxe drops any ready honey.

Flowers and Honey Varieties

Proximity to flowers dictates honey type and value. Wild Honey (100g base, 140g with Artisan profession) results from a lack of nearby flowers (within five tiles). Flowers in garden pots also influence honey type.

The Artisan profession (Farming Level 10) boosts Artisan goods by 40%. Honey prices (base and Artisan):

Harvesting flowers before collecting honey reverts the honey to Wild Honey.

Wild Seed flowers (e.g., Sweet Peas, Daffodils) yield only Wild Honey.

Honey Applications

While high-value honeys are best sold directly, Wild Honey and others find use in crafting and gifting.

Mead Production: Honey in a Keg produces Mead (200g base, 280g with Artisan). Casks improve Mead quality and value:

• Normal: 200g (280g)
• Silver: 250g (350g)
• Gold: 300g (420g)
• Iridium: 400g (560g)

Honey type doesn't affect Mead value; use Wild Honey for maximum profit.

Crafting: Honey, Hardwood, and Fiber create a Warp Totem: Farm (Farming Level 8).
