Facing the agile and sizable Congalala requires constant movement to evade its potent breath attacks, which are most dangerous from the front or rear. The beast employs powerful hand smashes, tail whips, and ranged breath attacks, making it crucial to stay on your toes.
Focus your attacks on the forelegs for the best chance at dealing damage, as the Congalala often leaves itself open after certain attacks. For the head, tail, and rear, wait for the beast to consume a mushroom, which is visibly evident, and then strike when it expels gas either from the front or rear. If you avoid the gas, you can attack these vulnerable areas without fear of immediate retaliation.
Should you find yourself affected by the gas, use deodorant or roll through water to cleanse the effects. Utilize the wounds you inflict to activate Focus Mode and deliver Focus Strikes, which can halt the Congalala's movements and counter its breath attacks or ground smashes effectively.

At this point, set up either a Shock or Pitfall Trap near its resting spot. Wake the Congalala and lure it into the trap, then throw 2 to 3 Tranq Bombs to successfully capture it.
