Author : Noah Update:Apr 25,2025

In *Fallout 76*, a new questline offers players the chance to experience life as a Ghoul, but it's a choice that comes with its own set of advantages and challenges. If you're at least level 50 and willing to embark on the "Leap of Faith" questline, you can start this transformation by heading to the Savage Divide and meeting key characters who will guide you through the process.

How To Become a Ghoul in Fallout 76

A Ghoul in Fallout 76.To become a Ghoul, you need to reach level 50 and accept the "Leap of Faith" questline. Once you do, you'll journey to the Savage Divide to meet characters who will help initiate your transformation into a Ghoul. It's a straightforward process, but it's important to weigh the pros and cons before making your decision.

Pros of Becoming a Ghoul in Fallout 76

Transforming into a Ghoul grants you access to unique abilities like Feral and Glow. With the Feral ability, your meter starts at 100% and decreases over time, but you can replenish it by consuming Chems. Here's what the Feral meter offers at different levels:

  • Above 80%: +3 Strength, +3 Endurance, +30 Max HP
  • Above 60%: +15 Max HP
  • Above 40%: -1 Endurance, -5 Max HP
  • Above 20%: -3 Endurance, -15 Max HP, -10 Max AP
  • At 0%: +150% Melee Damage, -5 Endurance, -99 Charisma, -30 Max HP, -20 Max AP, -300% Hip-fire Gun & V.A.T.S. Accuracy

The Glow ability increases your maximum health and allows you to heal from damage by indulging in activities like eating spoiled food and wandering in irradiated areas.

Additionally, Ghouls can utilize new Perk cards alongside regular human Perk cards, providing significant advantages. As a Ghoul, you're also immune to diseases and don't need to worry about regular food while exploring.

Cons of Becoming a Ghoul in Fallout 76

However, becoming a Ghoul isn't without its drawbacks. Engaging in the "Leap of Faith" questline may put you at odds with certain factions, potentially complicating your ability to complete other quests. As a Ghoul, you'll also experience a loss of Charisma, which can make interactions less enjoyable.

Fortunately, *Fallout 76* offers a solution to these issues. Jaye Vo, an NPC introduced in the "Leap of Faith" questline, provides disguises to help you navigate missions and avoid conflicts.

Should You Become a Ghoul in Fallout 76?

Despite the cons, the opportunity to become a Ghoul in *Fallout 76* is too enticing to ignore, thanks to the unique abilities and perks it offers. If you later decide to revert to your human form, you can do so via the Character screen, though you won't be able to complete the "Leap of Faith" questline. Once the questline is finished, you can transform back into a Ghoul for 1,000 Atoms.

With this information, you're ready to venture into the Savage Divide and embrace your new life as a Ghoul. So, should you become a Ghoul in *Fallout 76*? The choice is yours, but the game's exciting features make it a compelling option to consider.
