Eerie Worlds: A Tactical CCG Featuring Global Folklore Monsters

Rifts are rarely good news in games, but Avid Games has embraced the chaos in their highly anticipated game, Eerie Worlds. This tactical collectible card game (CCG) follows the success of Cards, the Universe and Everything, offering a new monster-themed experience focused on fun and learning.

Eerie Worlds features a visually diverse roster of monsters, each inspired by real-world mythological and folkloric horrors.

The game boasts a truly global collection, encompassing creatures from various cultures. Encounter Japanese Yokai like Jikininki and Kuchisake, Slavic monsters such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav, and a host of others including Bigfoot, Mothman, the Nandi Bear, and El Chupacabra. Each card includes detailed, researched descriptions, adding an educational element to the gameplay.

The game features four Alliances (Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig) and multiple Hordes, creating complex tactical depth through varied monster properties. Players build a Grimoire, their personal monster collection, which can be leveled up by merging duplicate cards. Starting with 160 basic cards, the Grimoire expands through merging, with more cards planned for release soon.

Avid Games plans to add two more Hordes in the coming months, ensuring Eerie Worlds remains strategically challenging even with extensive playtime.

Gameplay involves a deck of nine monster cards and one world card, played over nine 30-second turns. Players must make crucial decisions about mana usage and synergistic combinations.
