Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC: A Comprehensive Guide
The highly anticipated sequel to the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, arrives on PC on January 23, 2025. This PC release offers multiple editions, pre-order bonuses, and save data rewards. This guide clarifies your options.
Where to Buy Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC
PC gamers can purchase Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Unfortunately, a GOG release is not planned, limiting options for DRM-free purchases. Both Steam and Epic Games Store offer the game at the same price.
Pre-Order Bonuses and Save Data Bonuses
Pre-Order Bonuses
Pre-ordering Final Fantasy VII Rebirth before January 23rd, 13:59 (UTC), unlocks these bonuses, regardless of edition or storefront:
- Summon Materia: Moogle Trio
- Armor: Shinra Bangle Mk. II
- Armor: Midgar Bangle Mk. II
Note: These items may be sold separately later. However, a significant incentive to pre-order is the current 30% discount on all editions, valid until release.
Save Data Bonuses
Carry over your save data from Final Fantasy VII Remake to unlock additional content:
- Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade main campaign save: Unlocks the Leviathan summoning materia.
- INTERmission DLC campaign save: Unlocks the Ramuh summoning materia.
Ensure you use the same account and that the save data is on the same PC where Rebirth is installed.
Different Editions of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC
Two editions are available: Standard and Digital Deluxe.
Standard Edition
The Standard Edition ($69.99, $48.99 with pre-order discount) includes the base game and the Posh Chocobo summoning materia (included in both editions).
Digital Deluxe Edition
The Digital Deluxe Edition ($89.99, $62.99 with pre-order discount) adds:
- Digital Art Book
- Digital Mini Soundtrack
- Summon materia: Magic Pot
- Accessory: Reclaimant Choker
- Armor: Orchid Bracelet
Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade
A $20 upgrade is available for Standard Edition owners who wish to obtain the Digital Deluxe content later.
Is the Digital Deluxe Edition Worth It?
For most players, the extra cost of the Digital Deluxe Edition might not be justified. The additional content is largely cosmetic or minor gameplay enhancements. Unless the art book and soundtrack are highly desirable, the Standard Edition offers excellent value.
