Extas1s claims Playground Games is struggling with the ForzaTech engine, originally built for racing games and reportedly ill-suited for an open-world RPG. This, coupled with allegedly unengaging early gameplay, has necessitated extensive mechanic overhauls and pacing adjustments.

HeisenbergFX4 corroborates these concerns, suggesting the game's incompletion is so substantial that a 2026 release remains uncertain. The planned PlayStation release further complicates matters, demanding Fable meet Sony's high standards.
