"Elden Ring Testers Find Fell Omen Returns Through Morgott's Jump-Scare"

Author : Charlotte Update:May 03,2025

The Fell Omen bosses have become a hallmark of Elden Ring, and it's thrilling to see them unleashed in the new Elden Ring Nightreign expansion. Morgott, a notorious adversary from the original game, continues to haunt players in Nightreign, appearing as an upgraded version known as the unnamed Fell Omen. This fearsome foe can jump-scare invade players, reminiscent of his unpredictable appearances in the main campaign of Elden Ring. Morgott isn't alone in this mechanic, but his invasions are particularly fitting given his history of surprise encounters.

In Nightreign, Morgott comes equipped with new voice lines and additional moves, making him an even more formidable opponent. These enhancements are especially challenging when facing him with a group, as it levels the playing field. Beyond invasions, the Fell Omen can also appear as an end-of-night boss, adding a climactic fight as the sun sets in the game.

Early testers, including the renowned Let Me Solo Her, have taken on the Fell Omen during the Elden Ring Nightreign sessions. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the invasion mechanic as a standout feature. Players have reported being invaded by Morgott in various locations, from elevators to towers, leading to both thrilling and humorous encounters.

The success of the Fell Omen invasions has sparked excitement about other potential enemies that could similarly surprise players. The Pursuer from Dark Souls 2 is a popular suggestion, while some fans dream of Hunters from Bloodborne making an appearance, though this seems less likely.

There's also speculation about deeper mechanics related to these invasions. GamesRadar reported an instance where a co-op partner was defeated by the Omen and left with a curse mark, hinting at intriguing new gameplay elements.

Despite server issues during the first network test, many players still managed to dive into the Lands Between over the weekend. As anticipation builds, we'll have to wait until May 30 for the full release of Nightreign. In the meantime, keep an eye out for our hands-on impressions of Elden Ring Nightreign.
