Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: Three-Hour Daily Limit
The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test has imposed a three-hour daily playtime restriction on participants. This limited access test, running from February 14th to 17th, is exclusively available to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players. Applications are currently open via the official FromSoftware website.
Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, the announcement of Nightreign generated significant excitement. While initially, developers stated there were no plans for a sequel or further DLC beyond the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Nightreign's reveal at The Game Awards 2024 surprised and delighted fans.
This new title represents a departure for FromSoftware, prioritizing cooperative gameplay and incorporating roguelike elements such as procedurally generated encounters. The network test, described on the FromSoftware website as a "preliminary verification test" focusing on online system stability through large-scale network load testing, offers a glimpse into Nightreign's mechanics before its official release date, which remains unannounced. PC players are excluded from this test, but the final game will be available on PC upon release. The limited playtime, however, is sure to generate discussion among eager players.
