Techland made a splash at Summer Game Fest 2025 by revealing that Dying Light: The Beast will launch on August 22, 2025, for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
This surprise announcement means the Dying Light spinoff arrives in just a few months, reintroducing players to Kyle Crane after he was absent from the 2022 sequel. Alongside the release date reveal, Techland also shared fresh gameplay footage, showcasing the countless ways players can fight, stab, and smash through hordes of the infected.
In its official description, Techland describes Dying Light: The Beast as a "blend of open world and action survival horror." Set in the treacherous valley of Castor Woods, the game challenges players to use every available tool to survive.
"You are Kyle Crane. After years of captivity and painful experiments at the hands of the Baron, you manage to escape," the description states. "Stranded on the edge of humanity with a mix of human and zombie DNA, you grapple with controlling your inner beast and the turmoil it brings. Mastering this inner conflict is your only path to revenge against the man who transformed you."
Dying Light: The Beast is a standalone story set in Techland’s post-apocalyptic universe. It’s available for pre-order now, offering early buyers exclusive items like the Hero of Harran bundle. This bundle includes the Ultimate Survivor Outfit, Harran Combat Knife, Follower Crossbow, and more.
