Second Dinner, the developer behind the popular mobile game Marvel Snap, has severed ties with its former publisher, Nuverse. The studio has announced a new partnership with US-based publisher Skystone Games. This follows the recent removal of Marvel Snap from app stores in the wake of the Bytedance (TikTok's parent company) controversy.
The move concludes a turbulent period for several titles published by Nuverse and other Bytedance subsidiaries, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which were also affected by the temporary app store ban. Bytedance's actions, intended to protect TikTok, inadvertently disrupted the availability of these games, leaving developers like Second Dinner scrambling to restore service. Second Dinner reported they were not notified of Marvel Snap's removal.
