CD Projekt Red, the developers behind The Witcher 4, have issued a crucial warning to fans about a scam involving beta test invites circulating online. On April 16, they took to The Witcher's official Twitter (X) account to address the issue. They reported receiving notifications from the community about fake invitations to a beta test for The Witcher 4.

The official post stated, "We've been taking the necessary steps to take down this fraudulent messaging. If you receive any invites or come across news of one, please report the scam using the tools available in your email client or the social media platform you're using."

They emphasized that any future beta tests would be announced first through The Witcher’s official channels.

The Witcher 4 was unveiled at the Game Awards in December 2024, accompanied by a trailer that introduced Ciri as the new protagonist, sparking widespread discussion within the gaming community. This marked a significant shift from the previous three games, which featured Geralt as the lead.
