Yetuga marks your initial boss encounter in *The First Berserker: Khazan*, and it's no walk in the park. After mastering the game's combat mechanics, you'll need to employ every trick in your arsenal to emerge victorious. Positioned at the end of the Mount Heinmach level, Yetuga is a relentless adversary, known for its aggressive attacks when its territory is threatened. This boss can unleash both long and short-range assaults, including a devastating leaping slam.
Your strategy will hinge on effective dodging and parrying to minimize damage. Yetuga's arsenal includes:
- A two-hit combo starting with a left-handed downward smash followed by a right-handed uppercut.
- A four-hit combo featuring horizontal swipes with either arm.
- A powerful downward smash using both arms.
- A leaping single-handed smash.
- A jumping grab.
- A charging attack.
As you engage with Yetuga, you'll start to recognize its attack patterns, allowing you to strike back during brief windows of opportunity. Parrying, except for the jumping grab, not only helps you avoid damage but also inflicts significant Stamina damage on the boss. Exploit Yetuga's aggressive nature by dodging its charge and letting it crash into a wall, leaving it momentarily vulnerable. This is your chance to attack and potentially shatter the ice spikes on its back, weakening its offensive capabilities.

In the second phase, you can parry all of Yetuga's attacks except the grab, conserving your Stamina. Keep the pressure on to push Yetuga into its next stage. When it roars and powers up, create some distance. It will then grab a giant rock to smash at you, so time your dodge or parry perfectly to avoid taking damage. Watch out for its frost breath, which spawns ice spikes; either move out of the way or parry the attack as it reaches you. Seize moments to use Potent Attacks, and when Yetuga is exhausted, unleash a Brutal Attack for significant damage, hastening its defeat.
Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve.
That's everything you need to know to triumph over Yetuga in *The First Berserker: Khazan*. For more tips and strategies, be sure to check out The Escapist.
