Big Bad Wolf, the creative force behind critically acclaimed games like *Vampire: The Masquerade Swansong* and *The Council*, has just unveiled their latest endeavor: *Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss*. The announcement was accompanied by a stunning CG trailer, which introduces players to the protagonist, Noah, as he battles encroaching madness amidst the submerged city of R'lyeh and confronts the legendary Great Old One, Cthulhu.
Set in the year 2053, *Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss* narrates a gripping tale where corporate ocean mining operations inadvertently unleash an ancient cosmic horror. Players will assume the role of Noah, an agent with Interpol’s secretive Occult Affairs division, tasked with probing the mysterious vanishings of miners in the Pacific Ocean. Assisted by an AI companion named Key, players will delve into the mysteries of the sunken city of R'lyeh, navigate complex puzzles, and strive to preserve their sanity against the overwhelming influence of Cthulhu.
Harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5, the game promises to deliver surreal and reality-bending environments that will fully immerse players in its eerie atmosphere. The trailer, already available for viewing, teases a tense and thrilling experience. *Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss* is slated for release in 2026, and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
