Crunchyroll Removes Shin chan Summer Game

Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation – The Endless Seven-Day Journey is now available on Android. Published by Crunchyroll on mobile under its more popular title, Shin chan: Summer Vacation, the game originally launched on Nintendo Switch in 2021, before arriving on Steam and PS4 in 2022.

Shin chan: Summer Vacation transports Japan's mischievous but endearing troublemaker to the rustic countryside of Assou in Kumamoto. The adventure starts when Hiroshi's business trip to Kyushu leads the Nohara family to spend their summer with a childhood friend of Misae.

Upon reaching Kumamoto Station, they meet a strange man who gives them an unusual camera and asks them to be his witnesses. Armed with this new gadget, Shinnosuke sets out to explore Assou's vibrant fields and tranquil mountains.

One night, Shinnosuke sees a massive creature near that same enigmatic man from the station, Professor Akuno. From that moment on, strange occurrences begin happening throughout Assou. He encounters creatures unseen in his hometown of Kasukabe, befriends welcoming locals, and finds new companions to play with.

Shin chan: Summer Vacation offers slice-of-life gameplay with open-world exploration

Life in Assou is filled with daily activities. Mornings begin with community-wide exercise sessions, a classic Japanese summer custom. Meals are enjoyed together with the Nohara and Hinoyama families.

You can freely wander the rural landscape, hunt for rare insects and fish, assist the townspeople, and discover scenic views. Evenings conclude with a relaxing soak under the stars in a traditional Japanese bath before documenting the day's adventures in a photo diary.

Shinnosuke can also work as a junior reporter for the Cap News Agency, with his stories being featured in local bulletins. You can cultivate vegetables at Kurokami Farm and sell your harvest to the Hinoyama Café or the neighborhood curry restaurant to earn extra spending money.

Building friendships opens up even more possibilities. The local children invite Shinnosuke to play Dinosaur Showdown, where he can purchase Chocobi snacks from the Kirishima Store and collect dinosaur cards. The café and bar Dancing Jiro even lets him try his hand at being a DJ.

Fully voiced in Japanese and including English subtitles, Shin chan: Summer Vacation is ready to download on the Google Play Store.
