Freedom Wars Remastered plunges players into a gripping dystopian future, where they, as Sinners, battle against the monstrous Abductors to safeguard humanity. A key to boosting your combat prowess lies in upgrading your weapons and accessories. This not only enhances their base stats but also allows for the addition of modules that grant various strategic enhancements.
Players can begin upgrading their weapons from the outset, eliminating the need to wait for mission rewards or enemy drops. This guide delves into the process of upgrading both your weapons and accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.
How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered
To embark on the journey of weapon upgrades in Freedom Wars Remastered, players need to progress through the main story until they achieve Level 002 Code Clearance. At this point, as a CODE 2 Sinner, you'll unlock the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. The Weapon Development Facility becomes your hub for weapon management. Upgrading your arsenal demands specific resources alongside your Entitlement Points, but you can mitigate these costs by enlisting the aid of a Citizen. These Citizens come with varying reduction rates, based on their Facility Manager Aptitude. It might seem complex at first, but the system is user-friendly once you get the hang of it.
Before finalizing an upgrade, you'll be presented with a preview of the stat changes your weapon will undergo. The Weapon Development Facility also offers the flexibility to add Elements and experiment with different Modules and Module Slots. To elevate your weapon to a higher Grade, you'll need to acquire the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab on the Window of Liberty.
Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?
In the early stages of the main story, missions don't yield high-Grade weapons as rewards, making upgrades crucial. While you can acquire weapons and combat items from Zakka in The Warren, these are typically capped at Grade Level 1. Upgrading becomes almost indispensable. Moreover, one of your CODE 3 Exams necessitates obtaining higher Grade Development Facility Permits. With these permits, you can enhance any weapon to your preference and maintain it, while donating lower-Grade weapons obtained during missions to reduce your sentence and earn additional Entitlement Points.
The initial upgrade in the Weapon Development Facility not only improves your combat capabilities but also unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement. The game rewards further engagement with the upgrade system with additional achievements, making it particularly enticing for trophy hunters. The stark difference in damage output between weapons of varying Grades underscores the importance of dedicating time to gear improvement.
Additionally, later in the game, players gain access to the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management, opening up even more avenues for character enhancement.
