The successful launch of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might lead developer Sandfall Interactive to release a version for the Switch 2. In a May 2 interview with French YouTuber mistermv, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio's future plans following their remarkable debut.

He explained that the game's achievements have "changed everything," and the team is currently evaluating their next steps. Broche remarked, "Given the game's success, it fundamentally changes our outlook."

When questioned about a potential Switch 2 release, he noted that the studio is currently flooded with numerous opportunities and is carefully deciding which paths to pursue. "It's too early to make any definitive statements, but we're in a position where numerous opportunities are emerging—more than we can handle at once. We're evaluating which ones align with our goals. A Switch 2 version is certainly an intriguing possibility," Broche elaborated.

With the Switch 2's imminent arrival, it would be fitting for this year's highest-rated game to also grace the most anticipated handheld console. Fans will have to wait and see if they'll eventually experience this Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on Nintendo's new hardware.

No Official Merchandise…For Now!

Meanwhile, Sandfall Interactive is receiving an influx of requests and opportunities, including popular demand for an official plush of the beloved character, Esquie. The studio clarified that they haven't released any official merchandise yet and warned fans about counterfeit products circulating online. In a May 14 Twitter (X) post, they highlighted suspicious websites selling unauthorized Esquie plushies, stating, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."

They further cautioned that many of these unauthorized items feature AI-generated artwork, which Sandfall strongly advises against purchasing. Additionally, these products might be part of scams. However, the studio confirmed they are exploring the creation of official Esquie plushies.

Their post continued, "But here's some positive news to balance the warning: we are looking into producing official Esquie plushies and hope to bring them to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, please stay patient—and avoid falling for scams!"
