Excitement is building for Monster Hunter Wilds players as the game's first Title Update rolls out tomorrow, introducing quests that spur competition for the fastest clear times. In response to this update, Capcom has taken a firm stance against cheating, ensuring the integrity of the game remains intact.
Capcom issued a clear warning via their Monster Hunter account on X/Twitter: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests." This message underscores their commitment to maintaining a level playing field.
The company also cautioned that players who join multiplayer hunts with cheaters could face consequences, including invalid quest completion times and the loss of rewards for the entire party. Capcom advised, "Please take caution to avoid playing multiplayer with those who are engaging in prohibited activity, or those you suspect of such," and encouraged players to report any fraudulent behavior they encounter during quests.
The new quests will offer enticing rewards in the form of cosmetic pendants. These will be distributed to all participants, with additional rewards based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. Given the potential for rewards and the competitive nature of these quests, Capcom's crackdown on cheating is understandable and necessary to preserve the game's competitive integrity.
