Boxing Star introduces beastly MegaPunches and new Gym gear

While purists may turn up their noses, there's no denying that moving away from strict simulation and embracing gamification can make games a whole lot more fun. A prime example is ThumbAge's popular arcade sports game, Boxing Star, which brilliantly blends cartoonish antics with intense action. And now, to pack an even more powerful punch, the game is rolling out an exciting update that includes two brand-new MegaPunches!

MegaPunches are essentially the game's super moves, similar to Critical Arts in Street Fighter. Once you've charged up your Hyper Gauge sufficiently, you can unleash a devastating blow that can flatten your opponents. With a range of MegaPunches already available, the latest update introduces two fresh additions to your arsenal.

These new MegaPunches bring a wild, animalistic twist to your attacks. The Flame Bone, inspired by the mythical dragon, engulfs your opponent in fire and deals damage based on critical hits. Meanwhile, the Frost Fang infuses your punch with ice, freezing opponents in their tracks and dealing damage while the icy barrier is up.

Alongside the new MegaPunches, Boxing Star is also introducing new gym equipment to help you level up your character between fights. The Deadlift boosts your skill damage stats and can be upgraded all the way to level 8. The Training Timer, on the other hand, reduces the time needed to train your skills, letting you get back into the ring faster.

Sure, Boxing Star might not offer a realistic simulation of boxing—unless you're imagining a match between Superman and the Hulk—but it certainly doesn't skimp on the exciting, flashy content that keeps players hooked.
