**Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 New Subclasses:**Bard - College of Glamour
As a College of Glamour Bard, you'll harness the power to heal allies and command foes. Use Mantle of Inspiration to grant your allies 5 temporary hit points, and if an enemy attacks while this is active, they may become Charmed. Utilize Mantle of Majesty to control these charmed enemies, making them flee, approach, freeze, drop to the ground, or disarm themselves.
Barbarian - Path of Giants
Choosing the Path of Giants enhances your strength, allowing you to throw both friends and foes with ease. With Giant’s Rage, you gain increased size and strength, boosting your Throw attack damage and carry capacity.
Cleric - Death Domain
Death Domain clerics gain access to necrotic damage spells and three new necromancy cantrips. Toll The Dead inflicts 1-8 damage, scaling with prior damage to the target. Additionally, you can now cause nearby corpses to explode, dealing damage to enemies around them.
Druid - Circle of Stars
Circle of Stars Druids draw power from the constellations, transforming into one of three Starry Forms - the Archer, Chalice, or Dragon. Each form supports different strategies: the Archer deals radiant damage, the Chalice heals, and the Dragon boosts constitution rolls.
Paladin - Oath of the Crown
Paladins sworn to the Oath of the Crown can guide their allies with Righteous Clarity, taunt foes, and use Divine Allegiance to absorb damage and restore health to their party.
Fighter - Arcane Archer
The Arcane Archer combines magic and marksmanship, offering unique skills and new shooting animations. You can banish enemies to the Feywild or inflict Psychic damage, potentially blinding them.
Monk - Drunken Master
Drunken Master Monks can drink from their inventory or around the Sword Coast to recover Ki. With Intoxicating Strike, you can buff your Armour Class and hit chance against drunk targets, who are also vulnerable to Sobering Realisation, causing physical and Psychic damage.

Swarmkeeper Rangers command three types of deadly swarms: Cloud of Jellyfish for lightning damage, Flurry of Moths for Psychic damage and potential blindness, and Legion of Bees for piercing damage and knockback. Each swarm also offers teleportation capabilities.
Rogue - Swashbuckler
Swashbuckler Rogues gain actions like throwing sand to Blind enemies, flicking weapons to Disarm them, and using Fancy Footwork to prevent opportunity attacks during melee engagements.
Sorcerer - Shadow Magic
Shadow Magic Sorcerers thrive in darkness, gaining Superior Darkvision and the ability to Shadow Walk. They can summon a Hound of Ill Omen and use Strength of the Grave to avoid being downed, perfect for Honour Mode runs.

Patch 8 marks the final major update for *Baldur’s Gate 3*, concluding a remarkable chapter for Larian Studios. Since its launch in 2023, the game has received critical acclaim and achieved significant commercial success, continuing to sell well into 2025.
In a surprising move, Larian announced its departure from *Baldur’s Gate 3* and the Dungeons & Dragons universe to focus on a new, undisclosed project. This decision came after teasing the new game at various points, followed by a media blackout to concentrate on development.
Meanwhile, Hasbro, the owner of D&D, has expressed interest in continuing the *Baldur's Gate* series. Speaking at the Game Developers Conference, SVP of digital games at Hasbro, Dan Ayoub, hinted at future plans, stating, "We're kind of working out our plans for the future and what we're going to be doing with that. And actually, in pretty short order, we're going to have some stuff to talk about around that." While not confirming a new *Baldur's Gate* game, Ayoub mentioned a desire for a *Baldur's Gate 4*, though he noted it would likely take time to develop.
To celebrate the release of Patch 8, Larian will host a Twitch livestream where senior systems designer, Ross Stephens, will discuss the update's changes and additions.
