Larian Studios announced on Steam that a stress test for Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 will begin in January. This test will be available on PC via Steam, as well as Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Mac and GOG users will not have access to the stress test. Registration is currently open.
Larian plans to thoroughly test Patch 8 for bugs and gameplay issues before its official release. They're specifically seeking player assistance to identify problems, particularly with the new cross-play functionality. Implementing cross-play in a game as large as Baldur's Gate 3 has presented significant challenges, and Larian is inviting players to help test this feature. They encourage players to share the registration link and team up with friends or find groups on the Larian Studios Discord server.
While Patch 8 marks the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian has committed to ongoing support for modders. They've promised substantial future updates enhancing modding capabilities, allowing players to create and share their own stories. Since the September release of official modding tools, players have already downloaded over 70 million modules and uploaded over 3,000 mods.
