After finishing the main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the game's vast open world remains fully accessible. You can continue to explore Feudal Japan, engaging in the plentiful side content that wasn't locked out by completing the main storyline.

Moreover, post-launch, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will introduce new weekly challenges through the Animus, ensuring that even after achieving 100% completion, there's always something fresh to do.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Epilogue and Endgame Explained

Even after the credits roll, your journey in Assassin’s Creed Shadows might not be over. In my experience, the credits appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board and the main quests for Yasuke and Naoe. However, I hadn't yet earned trophies for finishing Act 3 or the Epilogue.

To unlock the epilogue and the true ending, you need to complete the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. After that, return to the Hideout and speak with Tomiko. This will unlock the complete ending and the related achievements.

Additionally, around the game's conclusion, you can earn exclusive gear sets themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke. These sets come with unique perks that enhance each protagonist's playstyle and are a treat for fans of the Assassin’s Creed series.

As for endgame content, you can continue progressing and reach the game’s maximum level cap even after the credits have rolled.

Although the main story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows concludes at launch, there's much to anticipate in the future. New content will be added via the Animus, and the in-game store will likely see updates with new items. Additionally, a story expansion titled The Claws of Awaji is slated for release in 2025, which will introduce over 10 hours of new content on the Island of Awaji.
