Application Description

Japanese Mahjong is an engaging game that follows a distinctive set of rules, offering players a unique and strategic experience. To play, you'll use the Slider at the bottom of the screen to select your tiles. Once selected, tap the Slider to discard the chosen tile. The ultimate goal is to complete your hand with four Melds and one Pair. An example of a winning hand could be \[1, 2, 3\]\[6, 6, 6\]\[6, 7, 8\]\[N, N, N\]\[4, 4\]. However, it's crucial to be aware that certain hands may not be valid if you use Chi, Pon, or Open Kan.

It's worth noting that you cannot use the numbers 1 and 9 in Chi or Pon. According to Japanese Mahjong rules, you need at least one valid hand to play. You can create a hand by paying 1,000 points and declaring Reach. However, you cannot declare Reach if you have performed Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. If you manage to keep your hand closed, you can earn higher points.

There's also the concept of a Lost Hand, which occurs when your hand is Waiting but cannot win because you've already discarded a tile that could complete your hand. Even with a Lost Hand, self-draw is still possible. The key strategy here is to avoid being Ron'd by another player, meaning you should never discard a tile that an opponent can use to complete their hand. Instead, try to reason out your opponents' hands based on their discards and aim to win by completing your own hand.
