Little Bee

The Kiwanis Club of New Kingston (KCNK) has launched an exciting new app for kids aged 4 to 9, called the KCNK Little Bee Game. Sponsored by Grace Kennedy Money Services (GKMS) and Western Union (WU), this app is perfect for young learners who want to master their spelling skills. With over 150 words to learn, the app offers three engaging modes: Learning Mode 1, Learning Mode 2, and Competition Mode.

The KCNK Little Bee Game can be enjoyed anywhere, even without an internet connection. Each mode features 10 levels, with words getting progressively harder. Every level includes at least 15 words to learn, and the words remain the same across all modes.

In the Settings section, students can enter their name, age, parish, and school. They can then choose from the three modes to start their spelling adventure.

Learning Mode 1 is designed for beginners. Students learn to spell by tapping each letter in the correct order. The app pronounces the letter out loud, helping children learn through repetition. If a mistake is made, it can be easily undone. To move forward, students must spell each word correctly, and they can retry any level at any time.

Learning Mode 2 adds a fun twist by presenting the letters in a jumbled order. Students must rearrange them to spell the word correctly. Like in the first mode, mistakes can be corrected, and students need to complete all words to finish a level.

Competition Mode ramps up the challenge with jumbled letters and extra letters thrown in. Students are timed as they spell 10 random words from each level's pool. The goal is to complete each level as quickly as possible, with the leaderboard showcasing the fastest times.

Students can reset the game anytime from the Settings page. It's important to wait for each letter to be fully pronounced before selecting the next one. Parents and students can capture their leaderboard results to share with teachers.
