A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging system. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute session length doesn't allow sufficient time for players to send or read messages effectively. The feature was disabled to optimize the limited playtime.
